Straight from Earl Owensby, the king of the Southern drive-ins, comes this trilogy of horror tales, told with tongue planted firmly in cheek. The first story, "Young Blood," is about a vampire couple who adopt a youngster only to learn the latest member of their brood is a problem child. Seems the kid is actually a werewolf. "The Guardians" involves some greedy grave robbers who find more trouble than they had anticipated when they try to ply their trade at the St. Francis Abbey cemetery. "Visions of Sugar-Plum" takes the viewer over the river and through the woods straight to Grandma's house. This is no ordinary grandmother at Christmastime, however. Though she loves it when the kiddies visit her at the holidays, her ideas on celebration take a rather unorthodox--and murderous--twist. Like any other multistoried film with more than one director, TALES OF THE THIRD DIMENSION is uneven, though it certainly has its moments. leave a comment
