A good idea is stretched too far here, despite some lovely background scenery of European capitals. Colleano is a British soldier who lost his accent working in the US. He suffers amnesia during WW II and is sent back to the US, where officials think he belongs. He is taken in by a New York family and they take him all over Europe.
