Lansing is a seaman who leaves his ship in Sydney, Australia, after he gets into a fight with another sailor. Knocked unconscious, Lansing awakens to find himself in the apartment of Miles, a secretary for a shipping company. She tells him that he killed the other sailor and that the police are looking for him. A call from a detective confirms this. Miles makes a deal with Lansing: she will hide him if he helps her steal a silver chalice from a museum. He agrees, but it turns out that what Miles really wants is one of the museum's stained-glass windows. After Lansing removes the window to get in the building, Miles disappears.
