T.A.G.: The Assassination Game

1982, Movie, PG, 92 mins

starstarstarstar
A silly college game, in which the kids go about hunting each other with rubber-tipped dart guns, acts as the spark for one of the contestants, Gersh (Abbott), to actually murder his rivals when he starts to take the game too seriously. Carradine plays Alex, the school reporter who falls in love with Susan (Hamilton), Gersh's chief competition in the game, and helps her out as she goes about stalking her prey. Eventually Alex and Susan realize that Gersh is playing for keeps and that they are in a fight for their lives. Although the film has the possibility of being a dark psychological look into an innocent obsession becoming a social menace, director Castle didn't concentrate on this facet, but instead collapsed in the face of genre expectations and created just another lame action film complete with the standard chases and shootouts. leave a comment
