Muddled adaptation of the classic legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. At old King Arthur's (Trevor Howard) castle, all the knights are growing lazy and contented. Into a feast one day strides a knight (Sean Connery) with an eerie green glow around him. He offers a challenge--anyone can take a blow at him with a sword, as long as he himself can return the blow. No takers come forth, to Arthur's disgust, and he is on the verge of doing it himself when Gawain (Miles O'Keeffe) accepts the challenge.
