Producer/director/star Wilde tried to tackle the Lancelot legend in this independent effort and put his wife, Wallace, in the role of the adultress Queen Guinevere while he played the knight whose loyalty to his king was forsaken in his pursuit of the bed. The concentration in this version of the legend is on the torrid affair between Wilde and Wallace, with the king finally discovering his wife's extramarital play through the gossip of Meacham. Wilde is banished from the court, and Wallace escapes a beheading by going to a nunnery. They are reunited years later when Wilde returns to avenge the murder of the king at the hands of Meacham. The exterior scenes were shot in Yugoslavia. leave a comment
