Keeler's final starring role was a far cry from some of the successful ventures she shared in Busby Berkeley musicals. Here she's teamed with the Nelsons (of TV and radio fame) as the singer in Ozzie's band. The setting is a college campus which is suffering from monetary woes, but somehow Ozzie's band manages to attract enough attention to increase the enrollment and keep the school from having to shut down. Crotchety old Howard would like nothing better than to see the school close. The same sentiments should be shared by the audience. Songs include: "When the Glee Club Swings the Alma Mater" (Charles Newman, Walter G. Samuels), "Where" (Jacques Krakeur), "Tom, Tom the Elevator Boy" (Samuels), "Tap Happy," "Zig Me Baby with a Gentle Zag," and "Here We Go Again" (Eddie Cherkose, Jacques Press). leave a comment
