This low-budget melodrama flew in under the publicity radar, but it should get a boost from Mira Sorvino's surprise Oscar. She plays the hapless wife of a white-collar working stiff (Michael Imperioli) who dabbles in recreational coke; there follows an
inevitable downward slide through dealing, addiction and violence. It's somewhat awkward and wholly predictable, but the leads are both fine.
