Sweeney 2

This follow-up to SWEENEY--it's far better than the original--finds Thaw and Waterman on the trail of bank robbers. The thieves support their families on a Mediterranean isle by making periodic visits to London banks for armed withdrawals. The plot is farfetched, but the film, directed with style and humor, is quite engaging. The acting is uniformly good, though some of the British accents might be difficult for American audiences to decipher. The police investigation has a realistic feel to it, a quality rarely found in most modern cop films.
