A feisty white woman (Rhea Perlman) plays coach, surrogate mom and motivational counselor to an inner-city high school basketball team. Needless to say, everyone learns the importance of self-respect and team play, while racial issues evaporate in the warmth of feel-good plot
contrivances. We're tempted to categorize this one as fantasy, not drama, but at least the kids (who include Fredro Starr of Onyx) are somewhat better fleshed out than the usual bunch of boilerplate gangstas.
