The play was a huge hit on Broadway and the film company thought they could transfer Miller's magic to the screen. They were wrong. Miller is a horseback performer from England who stows away on an ocean liner going to New York. It goes without saying that she is discovered, but there is a passenger list of friendly people. She's soon welcomed as one of them and sings and dances for her passage. She even winds up getting married before they reach the U.S., so she has no problem with the officials at Ellis Island.
