Not to be confused with the far superior Fred Zinnemann movie of the same name, this is a routine western distinguished only by Hoch's camerawork. There are three brothers in the Cloud family. The eldest is Preston, a desperado. His kid brother is John Drew Barrymore (in his movie debut), who loves Preston and wants to emulate him. The middle brother is Sterling, who is adored by Downs, but she is married to Elam. When Preston kills Elam, that paves the way for Sterling and Downs to cement their relationship.
