Yes, its pure soap opera, complete with shallow characters an squirm inducing dialogue, but what would summer be without it? Wealthy Walter Egan and his family return to the tony New England town where he once worked as a lifeguard and carryied on a passionate affair with tony Dorothy Maguire. She's married now — to snobbish, drunk Arthur Kennedy — but that doesn't stop Egan. Daughter Sandra Dee, meanwhile, is discovering the joy of sex with an evenly tanned Troy Donahue.
