A pleasant romantic comedy with a switch on an old formula. MacMurray and Goddard had been a husband-and-wife team of lawyers before the outbreak of WW II. They weren't getting along and decided to call it quits but had to wait until after the war was over to file the papers because Goddard went into the Women's Army Corps to serve her nation. Now that peace is established, she's not sure that she wants to divorce MacMurray. Whelan is MacMurray's new sweetie and does her best to get MacMurray to demand the papers be signed.
