Submarine Alert

This film was released a year after production was finished and, as a result, the technology depicted in the film was no longer novel or unusual. The story involves spies who are jamming the radio airwaves, resulting in the sinking of American tankers by a Japanese submarine. Arlen plays one of a group of radio engineers who are "fired" from their jobs so they can work undercover for the FBI to infiltrate the gang jamming the airwaves. Arlen is soon recruited by the gang. When he figures out the sabotaging methods, he tries to stop them until the FBI moves in. He is aided and romanced by Barrie, who is also operating undercover for the authorities.
