This was the last of five films Cantor did for Samuel Goldwyn and, like all the others, it contains the Cantor trademarks: brisk songs, decent dialog, and plenty of writers to make it go. Cantor is a shy little tailor who, after reading the book Man or Mouse: What Are You?, changes his ways and becomes a big shot around town by running an amusement park. The mob wants part of the action because the park contains slot machines, but Cantor, along with the authorities, provides some laughs, gets the crooks arrested, and resumes his now-successful career. Of the four songs, three feature Merman. Songs include: "The Lady Dances," "Shake It Off with Rhythm," "You Have Me High, You Have Me Low," "Calabash Pipe." leave a comment
