Confusing low budget picture stars Rambeau and Ellis as a pair who are trying to run a lonely hearts club in California. Ellis, however, is an escapee from jail. He goes as far as having his face changed by a plastic surgeon in his attempts to cover his tracks. But mobster Calhern knows
Ellis' true identity and blackmails the pair into letting him join the club. When he does, he starts running the show, turning the place into a scandalous spot for rendezvous. The daughter of one of Ellis' prison buddies shows up, and when Calhern forces himself on her, he gets shot. The confusing
finish points some fingers but never reveals the real killer.
