Strictly Modern

This film, based on the play "Cousin Kate," tells the modest story of a female writer who has never found love. Blackmer and Johnston (Mackaill's cousin) are set to get married, but she starts laying down the law, and, two days before the big day, Blackmer decides he has had enough. He changes his mind and takes the train back to town. On the way, however, he starts exchanging glances with Mackaill, who is on her way to the wedding. They don't know one another but decide they are meant for each other. All is well at the end. Blackmer and Mackaill go off together as do Johnson and Richmond, her long-time admirer.
