Durante plays a radio funny man who starts running out of jokes, which is exactly what the film does after about 15 minutes, relying too much on Durante's famous "Schnozzola" and his sometimes funny butchering of the English language. Looking for more laughs, Durante hires Foster, but Foster's wife winds up getting involved with Durante's partner, Velez. The film was plagued with a slew of writers in a clear case of too many cooks spoiling the broth. The Mills Brothers add about the only touch of class. Songs include: "Swing It, Sister," "Oh Me, Oh My, Oh You" (Harold Adamson, Burton Lane), "Money in My Clothes" (Irving Kahal, Sammy Fain), "I'm Putty in Your Hands" (Jimmy Durante, Adamson), "Hot Patatta" (Durante). leave a comment
