Any film featuring wide-eyed orphans simply cannot miss and, sure enough, this one doesn't. Welfare worker Ann Fairlie (Barbara Murray) grows fond of a group of homeless tots and, with the help of the equally enraptured Bill Lowther (Max Bygraves), tries to bring them some happiness.
Delightfully sensitive performances and fresh direction make this a thoroughly pleasurable film likely to bring tearful smiles. Bygraves sings "Gotta Have Rain" with the kids, a tune he also composed.
