McCrea plays a judge who not only hands down the sentences, but also makes sure they are carried out, using his six-shooters. He is a traveling judge and when he hits town, he finds the place controlled by McIntire. Even though the townspeople back the land baron, McCrea brings McIntire's
brat son, McCarthy, to trial for murder. Despite the town's fear of McIntire, McCrea rounds up enough witnesses to make sure that justice is served. Even McIntire comes to his side, as does Miroslava, just when he is ready to put his guns away again.
