Gray is a scientist who inadvertently gets involved in a plot to make phony pearls. When he reconsiders and tries to quit the gang, he is knocked out and left for dead. He is finally discovered, undergoes an experimental brain operation, and fakes amnesia in order to catch the criminals.
His plan, as ridiculous as it seems, leads him to the gang and he successfully foils the scheme.
