Strange Brew

Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis, as Doug and Bob McKenzie, bring their "SCTV" comedy skit to the big screen with an equal amount of vigor and beer. Doug and Bob do all the things they did on TV--wear toques and plaid shirts, pontificate while under the influence of cheap beer, and call each other "hoseheads." While many of their television sketches lasted only a couple of minutes, STRANGE BREW spins them out to an hour and a half. No, there's nothing intelligent here--just a couple of likable fellows trying to stop mad Brewmeister Smith (Max von Sydow) from gaining control of the world.
