The Story Of Ruth

This biblical spectacle tells the tale of Ruth but not exactly as it is taught in Sunday School. The script presents Ruth (Eden) as a priestess who denounces paganism after accepting Judaism and the belief in one God. Visiting Bethlehem, she encounters religious persecution, but the courts uphold her rights and allow her to wed Whitman. Naturally, the usual religious epic ingredients are tossed in--mysticism and faith, lavish flowing robes, and overly-dignified performances.
