Storm In A Teacup

An amusing comedy of manners based on a German play that was Anglicized for the stage by James Bridic. The action takes place in a tiny provincial Scottish town. Harrison is a newspaper reporter from England who comes north to take a job on the local publication. Once there, he reconnoiters the area and meets Leigh, daughter of the wealthy and dictatorial Parker, who is the town's leading legal light (they call him the Provost). Parker is attempting to climb higher on the political ladder, so he misuses his power. Allgood is a poor woman who has only one pleasure in life, the companionship of her dog, Scruffy.
