Filled with many a tearful moment, this coming-of-age tale deals with a young Australian boy (Greg Rowe) who lives with his father in an uninhabited coastal area and learns a great deal about life just by living it. The boy befriends an old aborigine, finds a nest of abandoned pelicans,
and begins to care for them at the old man's urging. As the picture progresses, the boy's relationships with his father and the aborigine deepen.
