Mason, an employee of the Weehawken, New Jersey, police department, skips town with $7,500 in police money in an effort to make Frazer, a high-ranking official, look bad. He heads for Miami with the cash and spends it lavishly, eventually meeting the suicidal Kurtz. Mason is soon caught,
but cannot produce the money he squandered. By the finale Frazer has returned to Jersey with a package of heroin, and Mason and Kurtz are beginning a future together. An offbeat crime comedy from Avildsen, who also worked the camera.
