One of the more disappointing offerings among 1988's welcome increase in films written and directed by women, this screwball affair focuses on a pair of female musicians, Hattie (Helen Slater) and Lolly (Melanie Mayron), trying to keep their heads above water in the Big Apple. Their
friendly dope dealer, Diane (Laura Devine), leaves a suitcase with them that contains nearly a million ill-gotten bucks. As fast as you can say "Shop, buy, accumulate," they've spent a quarter of a million dollars. After some complications with husbands and lovers, they hear from Diane, who is on
