Steele Justice

1987, Movie, R, 95 mins

starstarstarstar
Unintentionally hilarious "Rambo"-inspired action picture featuring the muscle-bound Martin Kove as John Steele, a Vietnam vet having trouble adjusting to postwar life in southern California. He's lost both his wife, Tracy (Sela Ward), and his job as a policeman to an alcohol problem. Things get worse as Steele's friend, South Vietnamese soldier-turned-refugee, Lee Van Minh (Robert Kim), and his family are brutally murdered by Vietnamese drug kingpin Gen. Bon Soong Kwan (Soon-Teck Oh). Steele then seeks revenge. STEELE JUSTICE could almost be mistaken for a parody of the muscle-headed macho-man genre. Kove blunders through the film spouting inane dialog and showing off his nicely pumped pectorals. If it wasn't for the unintentionally uproarious scenes, most viewers would swear that they've seen this movie before. leave a comment
