The Steel Bayonet

1957, Movie, NR, 84 mins

starstarstarstar
This weak British war tale has Genn leading his men on a mission to hold an African post until the Allies arrive. Filmed almost entirely on a single set, STEEL BAYONET rarely rises above a cliched treatment of the effects of war. The all-male cast means well, but the British actors, whether they play Englishmen, Germans or Arabs, are no more convincing than the English scenery in this story supposedly taking place in North Africa. leave a comment
