Yes, it's simple and sappy and as light as cotton candy, but it's also a wonderful way to spend an hour or two. The story is virtually the same as the original 1933 film — romantic complications and blue-ribbon intrigue at an annual Iowa state fair — but here the music and lyrics are by none other than Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein II.
