Stars Over Broadway

A mediocre vehicle for the questionable acting talents of radio stars Froman and Melton, which has the latter playing a bellboy who gets discovered by agent O'Brien. Melton makes it to the pop charts, but really would rather be singing opera. O'Brien refuses at first, driving the disenchanted singer to the bottle, but finally gives in. When the studio realized how weak their two stars would be at the box office, they cut the budget to a safer amount. Unfortunately, instead of reducing the pair's screen time, a Busby Berkeley number was cut.
