A power-wielding film actress is killed in a plane crash and the men in her life try to piece together some reason for her unhappiness. We see how she went from her small town, where she modeled in a dress shop to pay for her acting lessons, to meeting the director of a theater group who
leads her to a contact at a Mexican film studio. Men come and go as her fame grows and she becomes rich, and then she realizes how empty her life has become. She takes a plane to Europe to start anew, but the plane crash ends her life.
