Sullivan plays a retiring lawman whose last job draws "ghosts" from his past. He is assigned to bring to justice the sons of the man who raised him when he was orphaned as a child. He kills one and takes the other to await the stage into town at a station run by the parents of Maxwell, Sullivan's old sweetheart.
