The spirit of Quentin Tarantino hangs over this woozy action picture like the Ghost of Better Movies Past. Bending the truth comes naturally to fast-talking grifter Jack (Matthew Lillard), who offers professional thief Max (Vincent D'Onofrio) and his amoral girlfriend Jamie (Valeria Golino) a chance to break into the big time.
