This was the first oater in which Rogers was teamed with his happy-go-lucky sidekick, Gabby Hayes. He and Rogers make claim to partial ownership of a ranch, after bidding farewell to the Confederate army. The other half of the ranch is owned by a former colonel in the Union army, whom the pair have had a run-in with before.
