This made-for-TV version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic actually improves on the messy, 1958 feature-film version and favors drama and spectacle over musical comedy. During WWII, marine Lieutenant Joseph Cable (singer Harry Connick Jr.) is stationed in the South Pacific for a top secret surveillance mission.
