A below-par outing for Rogers, SOUTH OF CALIENTE lacks action and quick pacing. This time Rogers is out to nab the thieves who steal Evans' prize horse and try to sell it in Mexico. The villains turn out to be led by Evans' trainer, Fowley. Before he is brought to justice, Rogers, Evans, and Lee find time to sing four songs. They include: "Gypsy Trail," "My Home Is Over Yonder," "Won'tcha Be a Friend of Mine?" (Jack Elliott), and "Yascha the Gypsy" (Lee Wainer). leave a comment
