Rio Tops Box Office, Breaks Record for 2011

Rio soared to the top spot at the box office for a second week, making it the top-grossing  release of 2011 so far, Box Office Mojo reports.

The Fox animated film, featuring the voices of Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg, took in $26.8 million in its second weekend, bringing its worldwide total to $286 million. Rio fended off new release Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family, which brought in $25.8 million and took second place for the weekend.

Warner Bros. has pulled the trailer for The Hangover II from theaters over concerns about some racy content.

The trailer, which premiered last week online and before screenings of Source Code, featured a number of gags, including a monkey simulating a sex act.
