As far as suspense goes, you can't beat the last 10 minutes of this gripping film version of a classic radio play. Barbara Stanwyck stars as a paranoid New York City heiress whose psychosomatic illness has left her a bedridden invalid. Psychosomatic or not, she's completely helpless when she overhears a murder being planned over the phone and begins to suspect that she's the intended victim.
