Sorority House

Overly sentimental college film that focuses on the sorority snobs. Shirley plays a girl from a working-class family whose dream is to be accepted into a top sorority. She lies about her father's business to make it sound more impressive. When her father, Kerrigan, sells his food store and moves to be near his daughter, she ignores him when he shows up at a sorority function because she's embarrassed. Realizing how shallow she's become, she apologizes to her father and leaves the sorority she held so dear. Veronica Lake, who then was known as Constance Keane, plays a bit role.
