Hayes is the sheriff of a town where a gang of outlaws have been wreaking havoc on the local farms. The townspeople are fed up with the incompetent Hayes and start rumbling about getting a new man for the job. He travels back East to enlist the help of Rogers, who comes from a long line of famous sheriffs. But the latest Rogers would rather study insects than fire his sixshooter.
