This expensive production, with the emphasis on the music rather than the action, features Ryan coming from the East to visit her father, Shannon. The problem is she thinks Daddy owns the ranch when he actually is just another hired man. To help Shannon, Rogers and his buddies go along with the charade, but the girl accidentally causes half of the ranch to be sold to villain MacLane. To save the ranch, Rogers has to win a chuck wagon race, an exciting highlight of the film. Rogers lets loose with 10 songs, including "Mexicali Rose" and "Moonlight and Roses." The Alex Nahera Dancers add an authentic touch to the fiesta dance scene. leave a comment
