Irish tenor McCormack, whose film debut won him rave reviews and audiences, plays a singer in love with Joyce, but she is forced to marry someone else. Completely devastated, he abandons his singing career. Her husband eventually deserts her and her two children, and McCormack helps support the family because Joyce is the only woman he has ever loved. This early talkie was filmed in 70mm and recorded using Movietone, a sound-on-film process developed in the late 1920s for the Fox film company.
