So great were the potential for fun with new inventions and the success of THE ABSENT-MINDED PROFESSOR that this sequel appeared two years later. Backed by almost the same cast as appeared in the first film, Fred MacMurray reprises his role as Prof. Ned Brainard, who becomes so entangled
in red tape that his latest invention, some antigravity goop, goes unsold. Meanwhile, young Biff Hawk (Tommy Kirk) uses the professor's tools and helps create a flubber gas that, when pumped into a football uniform, makes a player practically unstoppable. It's all makes for a goofy and enjoyable time.
