The Son Of Monte Cristo: Review

Not even close to the original, this is the unwanted son. The slow-paced story begins with Bennett, a grand duchess, heading to Paris to get help from Napoleon. Sanders is trying to take over her country and has sent troops after her. Hayward rescues her, loses her, and finally gets her back again by fooling Sanders into thinking that he (Hayward) is a wealthy banker offering a 25-million franc loan. The film earned an Oscar nomination for Best Interior Decoration. leave a comment
