In Antarctica, deep inside a top-secret, Pentagon-sponsored mining operation, lurks an emissary of Lucifer. Posing as the base's scientist, unholy Dr. Schilling (Damian Chapa) must sacrifice six humans in a pentagram; if not, the Devil must sleep for another 1000 years. Unaware of the diabolical undercurrents, two M.P.s, Callie O'Grady (Chase Masterson) and Sam Cage (Clayton Rohner), are sent to the outpost for a routine rescue. Little do they know that Dr. Schilling is busy raising his dead victims and turning them into zombie-like killers. Only Dr. Jennifer Wills (Faith Ford) is still alive. It turns out that Sam is Schilling's half-brother — their father being Satan himself — and, despite Sam's cloudy memory, the siblings are old adversaries. Still, Sam finds himself torn between Good and Evil, making his human mother proud or helping Schilling release their father, the Prince of Darkness. Over the course of three films, they've come back... and come back again... and come back for more. If you haven't seen the earlier films in the series, the flashbacks will bewilder you, but this Night of the Frozen Dead thriller has a few scares of its own, combining eerie music, unexpected blasts of sound, and unnerving silences to keep the audience in a state of nervous expectation. This early promise diminishes once the demonic explanations get the upper hand. Confusingly, it's unclear to viewers that Sam has blocked out any knowledge of his fallen angel parentage. Once the umpteenth corpse has thawed, the director abandons any pretense of sustaining suspense and settles for gross-out shocks.
