Some Like It Hot

Bob Hope averred that he would prefer not to be reminded of this phase of his comic career. This film is not to be confused with the 1959 Billy Wilder-directed transvestite farce with Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon, and Tony Curtis. The syncopated style of drummer Gene Krupa overshadows the negligible performance of Hope as a carnival barker who tries to make a buck off the swing craze. He tries to secure Krupa's band a gig in a respectable dance hall, but can't convince the owners to take a chance until Krupa and his band draw a crowd at a boardwalk concert.
