The age old tale of a man who sells his soul (in this case a violin) to the devil in return for the promise of good fortune. When Phelan, the greedy soldier, falls in love with ballerina Beriosova he finds that the devil is not such a generous fellow after all. The Melos Ensemble conducted by Derek Hudson performs the music. leave a comment
