Bent on changing her screen image, Andrews caused quite a stir by baring her breasts in Edwards' S.O.B. This satirical attack on Hollywood and the film industry, however, lacks the biting edge and fresh characters necessary to make it work. When his $30 million film bombs, director Mulligan attempts suicide but then resolves to turn his failed "family" musical into a porno film. He persuades his estranged wife, actress Andrews, to shed her clothes and chaste image before the camera. The catch is that in order to remake his picture, Mulligan must buy it back from the studio. S.O.B. has its moments. Unfortunately, black humor is a difficult medium to sustain. This was the last film for the great Holden, who plays one of Felix's friends. leave a comment
